I’ve been a lover of gardens and gardening for as long as I can remember. After 30 chilly years in the Midwest, I was lucky enough to relocate to the Bay Area and go back to school at UC Berkeley Extension to study garden design. I started my business in 2006, and now design between 30-50 gardens a year. I specialize in creating beautiful California native and low water garden designs that are appropriate for our climate. I once heard a professor say, “There will be wars over water someday” and that has stuck with me over the years. And, I believe its easy to have a low water, sustainable garden here in California if you choose the right plants to begin with.

I create designs for gardens of all sizes. No project is too small or too large. I’ve created a single border for a tiny front garden to an extensive private park for some very lucky grandchildren, compliments of their grandparents. I believe that everyone deserves a garden to love, cherish, and enjoy.

I am located East of Walnut Creek, in a very-hot-in-the-summer and freezing-cold-in-the-winter microclimate at the base of Mt. Diablo. Although most of my work is located in the East Bay, I’ve worked on projects as far North as Wine Country, and as far South as Los Angeles.
